Old Republic Risk Management (ORRM) is currently seeking a Business Solutions Architect to join its Information Services Team at its company headquarters in Brookfield, WI.
Under the direction of the Application Development Manager, this position designs, configures, develops, builds, tests, deploys and maintains new off-the-shelf .Net-based web applications in Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud and on-premises environments to address specified business needs. In addition, this position would be responsible for creation and maintenance of integrations with .Net-based web applications hosted on Azure. The .Net Business Solutions Architect communicates technical issues, resolutions and progress to the Application Development Manager and senior management. This position also acts as a mentor to other developers and technical staff around Azure, DevOps and the .Net framework.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will be responsible for development, build, deployment and troubleshooting of web applications in testing and production environments
- Provide setup, migration, architecture, performance and administration support of web application servers
- Design and maintain Azure DevOps repositories and CI/CD pipelines for multiple .Net and Java-based web applications
- Design and maintain Octopus-based deployments
- Design and maintain web application hosting environments within Azure and on-premises environments
- Recommend options towards migrating web applications from on-premises to Azure hosting
- Stay updated on latest Azure service offerings and recommend how to adapt existing hosting patterns as the technology landscape evolves
- Advise and assist with application integration, performance analysis, application health and availability monitoring
- Mentor other technical staff, especially regarding in-Azure DevOps configuration and build pipeline setup
- Provide on-call response when necessary
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent, and a minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required:
- .NET framework, with a focus on web application development, with proficiency in C# or related .NET-compatible language.
- Microsoft Azure cloud-based application server and resource setup
- Azure DevOps(ADO) repository and CI/CD pipeline configuration
- Microsoft SQL server and SQL query formation
- Integration of applications with Okta, LDAP and Active Directory
- SOAP and REST Web Services
- XML, including programmatic parsing of XML DOMs
- Flat-file file formats and secure transfer of data files such as PGP Encryption, SFTP, etc.
Preferred, but not required:
- P&C Commercial insurance industry experience
- DB2 on IBM iSeries
- Experience with the Duck Creek suite of products.
- Experience with Octopus for application deployment.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
This position requires one to sit for extended periods of time and stand and/or walk occasionally. The position requires one to occasionally push, pull, carry, and/or lift up to 10 pounds {40 pounds for IT or Building Services roles}. No personal protective equipment is required. Ergonomic equipment is available to employees.
