Job Purpose:
This position reports to the Vice President Business Sales and is responsible for managing a team of Sales Reps selling to the Small Business segment. The Manager is responsible for the sales performance of their team against assigned targets. The Manager is also responsible for working with relevant leaders and teams in the business to drive sales leads into the inbound call center and online and to drive sales performance and meeting targeted close rates on those leads. The sales manager is responsible for tracking of key sales metrics, and supporting projects to improve sales performance such as the launch of new tools, referral programs, working with vendors, and others. The Sales Manager will be responsible for meeting revenue goals, maintaining staff headcount through hiring, and meeting expense budget levels.
This position is also responsible for leading and facilitating sales training for all of Business Sales. Works with Learning & Development to develop and design training. Administers training programs to employees and contractors. Works with management and Learning & Development to assess the training needs, identify and/or develop appropriate programs to meet the needs of the business, and assess the effectiveness of programs. Coaches employees to improve productivity and effectiveness. Performs needs assessments; designs, prepares, documents, and delivers and manages training programs that meet the needs of the organization. Coaches sales personnel to improve communication skills, sales skills, product knowledge, and system knowledge. Reports on the progress of employee during onboarding and provides feedback to management and Learning & Development on the performance of individual learners when appropriate.
Works with management and Learning & Development in developing new training courses associated with the introduction of new products, services, systems, or procedures when appropriate. Solicits and schedules presentations by internal or external trainers, lecturers, speakers, or representatives of sales and product specialists.
Studies and develops skills and methodologies for state-of-the-art learning and training methods. Responsible for working with department stakeholders in succession planning assessments, reviews, training plan development, implementation, and tracking the progress of all candidates. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for driving activity, customer interaction, and meeting sales quotas (40%)
- Responsible, along with marketing, customer support, for overall customer satisfaction (10%)
- Responsible for the training, coaching and development of Sales Reps to maximize individual contribution (50%)
Education:
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Relevant Work Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience
Strong sales background Sales and Training experience preferred
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have strong leadership skills
Must have had success as a salesperson
Excellent coaching skills and a high understanding of customer perspective and corporate goals
Ability to manage people with a diversity of talents
Strong data background essential
Strong negotiation skills needed

Salary Range: $115,000 - $172,500
