Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, provides prompt, efficient, high quality service and support for specified Agents with their Commercial Lines book of business and key transactional workflows (new and renewal business, policy changes, cancellations, notice of cancellations, and audits). Responsibilities include working with various insurance companies as well as excess and surplus lines brokers in obtaining quotes for new and renewal business and submitting policy changes. Assists with client contact regarding coverages, policy changes, renewal solicitations, etc.
Essential Duties:
- For new business: review applications submitted by the Agent; when necessary, discuss with Agent’s detailed underwriting information for presentation to the insurance companies or brokers; submit applications to respective insurance companies or brokers; review and advise Agent of quotes received; prepare proposal as requested.
- For renewals: review expiration list; determine if a non-standard policy can be rewritten in a standard program; market accounts as necessary; renew policies as instructed.
- Handle telephone requests/emails from clients and miscellaneous correspondence.
- Review accounts for potential coverage gaps, prepare checklist accordingly and send to the insured.
- Maintains accurate insured files within the agency management system. This includes updating applications, notes, attaching documents/correspondence to the file.
- Issue certificates of insurance, binders, id cards, notices of cancellation.
- Maintains follow-ups on pending items.
- Documents all material conversations with insureds and/or carriers regarding exposures and coverages.
- Consistently demonstrates effective communicate, time and task management and accuracy when interacting with Insureds, Agents, Carriers and Agency personnel to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims.
Other Duties:
- Participates in seminars and classes for knowledge and skill development and to fulfill continuation education requirements for license.
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks, as assigned.
