Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Business Process Consultant, Intermediate/Advanced for our client located in Tallahassee, FL.
This position is onsite in Tallahassee, FL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.
Job Overview:
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate Business Processes, data capture, and reporting requirements.
- Assist in the Business Process redesign and documentation.
- Assist with translating high-level business requirements into functional specifications and manage changes to such specifications.
- Assist with translating Business Processes and functional specifications into training procedures.
- Chart existing Business Processes to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models.
- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes plus reports and assist the developing strategies for updating these processes.
- Prototype new procedures to enhance Business Processes, operations, and information process flow.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in operating systems across the organization.
- Develop, standardize, and maintain new or improved processes based on findings and analysis.
- Communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.
- Liaise with various business, and IT, groups in the organization to facilitate the implementation of new or improved Business Processes.
- Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other post-implementation support.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience with business requirements analysis, Business Process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling.
- 5+ years’ experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
- 2+ years’ experience in organizational change management that includes documentation of change management planning, communicating change to stakeholders, providing support during the transition, and monitoring the progress of the change implementation.
- Experience with financial analysis, including the ability to apply complex accounting principles, a working knowledge of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Experience with analyzing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts.
- Experience working within a structured Project Management environment.
- Ability to be creative, to use sound judgment, and display foresight to identify potential problems and design/specifications.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, oral, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification(s) from the IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis), based on the BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge).
- Experience with standard principles of accounting, such as GAAP or International Financial Reporting Standards
- Experience using the Florida Accounting and Information Resource (FLAIR) system or other enterprise accounting systems.
- Knowledge of various facilitation techniques to elicit business requirements and drive customer communications.
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and/or PHP.
- Experience with UML (Unified Modelling Language).
- Familiarity with Agile development, specifically Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP) and Kanban.
