Position Overview:

The Business Manager for Surgical Services oversees all business operations for Surgical Services. They are expected to communicate key findings and trends to senior leadership and Surgical Services leadership. Responsible for new business plan development and ongoing analysis and interpretation of program data and identifying service related issues as required, providing detailed reports with cost analysis. Coordinates and leads planning sessions to develop the future goals and objectives. Responsible for working with revenue cycle and finance to review revenue cycle health and operating margins as well as to coordinate with surgical teams and leadership to predict future volumes.

What you'll do:

Identify clinical and business workflow requirements for providers and support staff with the design and implementation of data/clinical systems

Assists Director of Surgical Services for business matters (Budget, revenue capture, cost savings, departmental fiscal responsibility) required for the efficient operation and management of the department including finance, information technology, process improvement, and materials management oversight

Initiates and manages new projects that support key department initiatives that support efficiency and effectiveness, revenue generation, and LEAN/Standard work.

Analyzes various reports for the impact of the actual and/or proposed operational changes in meeting Surgical Services initiatives/goals

Creates, analyzes and presents monthly statistics, including physician and Perioperative dashboards /scorecards

Collaborate with physician/vendor management team to ensure products are vetted through Surgical Value Analysis team process to evaluate cost and clinical need

Assists with inventory management processes to minimize waste and lost revenue

Minimum Qualifications:

Education - Bachelors or Masters in Business or Healthcare Business Management/Administration.

Licensure - N/A

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience - Minimum of 5 years in a business healthcare environment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for long periods of time
