The Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. We are seeking individuals passionate about data with experience in SQL and proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Groovy, etc.). You will be part of a dedicated and passionate team working together to collect, integrate, analyze, and present PCO’s raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information to help our Medicare Advantage population.

The Business Intelligence Engineer leverage a variety of tools, technologies, applications and practices to collect, integrate, analyze, and present PCO’s raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with various teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize processes on MS SQL Server and Snowflake databases to ensure high performance, availability, and security.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate data processing and management tasks.
  • Implement and oversee data quality and integrity strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data analysis and reporting needs, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Design and execute data migration and integration processes across different systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, working closely with the IT team to implement solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in database management, data privacy, and security practices, applying them to improve existing systems.


Use your skills to make an impact

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data management, statistics, or 3 - 4 years of relevant experience and skills.
  • Strong practical experience using SQL in a professional setting, we prefer Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake experience, but will consider candidates with knowledge of similar products.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is essential.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of database design principles, data manipulation, and ETL processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and effectively communicate technical solutions.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
  • Working knowledge of GIT for version control.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$65,000 - $89,500 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
