Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Reporting area of the RADS (Reporting, Analytics and Data Science) team at Nuuly.
The Reporting team at Nuuly empowers the business by providing self-service data and insights using Looker. As the Senior BI Engineer, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand and support their reporting needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop an expert understanding of Nuuly data, business metrics, and the clothing rental business.
- Enable decision making in all areas of the business: logistics, marketing, buying/planning, customer success, finance
- Leverage your strong understanding of data modeling principles in partnership with other members of the reporting team to design, scale and maintain our data and data models in Looker, BigQuery and dbt cloud
- Develop reporting that allow users to explore data and surface insights on their own
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand and translate their business needs into self-service reporting
- Effectively model data in Looker for performance and ease of use
- Rebuild existing models in Looker to be more performant and user-friendly
- Create effective and engaging dashboards with useful visuals that allow users to quickly surface insights
- Create robust dbt models from scratch and using existing SQL
Qualifications
5+ years in Business Intelligence Engineering or related data & analytics fields
Job Skills
- Expertise with data modeling and development in Looker (Advanced LookML)
- Proficiency in SQL with data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.
- Knowledge of Looker security and administration
- Expertise in data visualization and dashboard design principles & best practices
- Superb communication and collaboration skills
Bonus skills:
- Experience working with dbt
- Experience of subscription business and/or ecommerce
- Experience with logistics data
- Knowledge of Agile processes (JIRA) and version control using git and/or GitHub
Education
Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience
Location
Philadelphia, PA
Travel
Up to 2-3 times per year to our distribution centers in Bristol, PA and Kansas City, Missouri may be required.
