SalaryThe Department of Reporting and Operational Intelligence at Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Business & Information Analyst. As the Business & Information Analyst, you will assist in the support and oversight of the daily overall Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) functionality. Work to create reports in Cognos using SQL to provide operation data needs for the division, as well as completing other data requests as needed. Under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Success Technologies, the position will assist in how leverage modern technologies in a way that improves operational efficiencies, user experience, and student experience.
This position has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.
Pay:
- $60,000
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (flexible)
- Stay abreast of new technologies and enhancements to existing solutions
- Working closely with Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Success Technologies and Sr. Business and Information Analyst to see projects move from conception to completion, collect feedback from users to set priorities, and fostering a collaborative work environment within Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA).
- Along with helping to identify opportunities for improving business processes through the use of technology to eliminate problems that affect productivity and data output.
- Work with Information Services to provide a reporting infrastructure for ongoing development of a suite of reports and dashboards to support data driven decisions and operational data clean-up to ensure accurate and valid data.
- Support all areas of EMSA in providing ad hoc reporting data for daily operational needs.
- Work with all areas within EMSA to assist with validating data within reports.
- Assist with supporting intuitional compliance with federal state, Purdue University systems, and NCAA rules, regulations and policies.
- Oversee application and implementation of regulatory releases and updates from the functional perspective
- Coordinate testing of all EMSA modules by developing and maintaining functional testing plans for system upgrades, changes, etc.

- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience with at least one-year SQL experience utilizing a relational database.
Preferred Experience:
- One-year business analyst experience, higher education setting utilizing Banner or other comparable student information system; Cognos or similar reporting tool experience highly preferred.
- High analytical skills and attention to detail with an emphasis on business process improvement, data analysis and oversight in the completion of comprehensive testing in preparation for the implementation of software patches/upgrades
- Ability to think strategically and implement new processes, concepts, or office efficiencies leveraging modern technologies such as CRM (Technolutions Slate)
- CRM, or Student Information System such as Banner experience
- Ability to provide professional reports, easy to understand and analyze
- Responsive and adaptable to a fast-paced environment and fluctuating responsibilities
- Willingness to start projects from scratch and brainstorming solutions to problems
- Ability to think creatively and quickly to resolve system and process issues
- Displays a high level of conscientiousness and follow-through
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong analysis skills
- Ability to work effectively with people with differing levels of technical knowledge
- Demonstrated understanding of Enrollment Management Systems
