The Business Development Specialist I role is responsible for:
- Lead generation
- Increasing sales pipeline
- Supporting lead generation programs
The role will focus on outbound prospecting for new business on a one-to-one basis and supporting one-to-many programmatic outbound campaigns. A combination of entry level inside sales skills and performing tasks such as research, data downloads, working with excel and other tools is essential. The successful person must apply an understanding of KeyMark’s products and services to the needs of the prospects. KeyMark’s existing CRM and prospecting tools (primarily HubSpot and ZoomInfo) and process guidelines will be used to perform the basic functions of the job. The ability to exercise independent judgment and creativity in the prospecting process is important. Daily activities may include direct lead prospecting, executing large scale programmatic campaigns, assisting with campaign creation, reporting, and communications with management.
Essential Duties & Specific Responsibilities
Lead Generation
- Prospecting calls and emails to qualify leads based on B.A.N.T. criteria (budget, authority, need, and timeline) for business automation projects relevant to our solutions
- Consistent daily outreach to pre-qualified database and others to include:
- Outbound calls: 25 per day or as specified by manager
- Outbound emails: 250 per day or as specified by manager. These include 1:1 personalized and programmatic bulk sequence-based emails utilizing Hubspot
- Nurturing prospects through the sales cycle
- Fielding inbound calls, emails and chat with prompt, thoughtful responses
- Ability to qualify leads based on marketing and sales criteria
- Work with the Sales team to set meetings with SQL’s (Sales Qualified Leads)
Campaign Support and Implementation
- Data entry, processing, and reporting in HubSpot and ZoomInfo
- Comprehend and orchestrate delivery of relevant content to prospects across multiple industries and departmental roles
- Assist with creation of outbound emails and call scripts that will effectively nurture prospects through the decision funnel
- Maintain updated records in the CRM of activities and conversations
- Utilize ZoomInfo and other resources to find and compile company and contact dat
- Perform ABM based market, company, and contact research
Other
- Interact and communicate successfully with individuals and teams across all areas
- Flexibility to adapt to changing objectives
- Self-education and assigned training on product offerings
- Other duties as assigned
- 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service or inside sales environment highly preferred
- 4-year degree in a related area preferred, 2-Year degree minimum
- Familiarity with SaaS (Software as a Service) and B2B sales/marketing preferred
- Understanding of lead generation process
- Possess strong communication skills including phone selling and presentation skills.
- Must be able to discuss questions intelligently and ask un-scripted, educated questions to effectively gain results. Influencing skills a plus.
- Fluent with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, internet/search, data files, data entry
- Understanding of exporting data to excel and managing files and folders
- Time management based on an understanding of lead pipeline
- Continuously seeking educational opportunities to grow technical skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of NetSuite and HubSpot is a plus
- Disciplined work habits and high levels of attention to detail

- Ability to work well in a team environment while exhibiting organizational and time management skills necessary to work on multiple tasks in parallel

To complete the job responsibilities and duties described previously, the Business Development Specialist I may be required to travel on business up to 10% of working time.

- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time
- Work location may be split between corporate offices and remote
