Job Description
Your job is to build relationships with regional cellular carriers. We currently support 10 carrier partners on our trade-in platform. You’ll work to grow our engagement with these existing partners and identify/sell to potential partners.
Newaya’s trade-in platform gives regional cellular carriers (think AT&T but much smaller) a way to offer a trade-in option to their customers who are upgrading to a new phone. We built this software from scratch and you’ll help us continually improve it to grow the program.

Newaya is a small business with only 5 employees. It started in a dormitory in 2010, and today we sell over 25,000 phones to hundreds of customers across many countries each year. We take tremendous pride in running a business that competes with much larger and better-funded companies – and we can only do this with a hyper-competent team. Each of us wears a lot of hats and takes ownership of the parts of the business we work on.
We also have a lot of fun. Our team takes 5-10 fully-paid ski days each year. When the weather’s nice we play disc golf together at a course near our office. We host barbecues, movie nights, rafting trips, hiking days, rock climbing excursions – and we try to support each person’s passions for whatever activity they enjoy.

Responsibilities
- Sales (demos, trade shows, onsite visits)
Get ready to travel. You’ll exhibit Newaya’s program at industry trade shows: growing our existing relationships and building new ones. You should come to this role with existing demo/sales experience and be comfortable presenting to potential clients.
- Account management (meeting customers where they are)
Communicate with existing carrier partners to understand their pain points. Take these insights and collaborate with our product team to build solutions that can improve engagement with existing carriers, entice new carriers, and ultimately set Newaya apart from its competition.
- Marketing
Design and write trade-in marketing content for our prospective carrier partners, then distribute that content. You’ll use tools like Canva, Hubspot Marketing, MailChimp, LinkedIn, and Demio for this.
- CRM management
You’ll essentially be living in Hubspot (our CRM software) keeping our relationship records up-to-date and using its tools to identify and communicate with leads. Experience with Hubspot is a bonus but is not required.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Business Development or sales experience
- Documented track record of successfully selling or building B2B relationships
- 4 year degree or explain your experience/education that makes you a good candidate
- Great listening skills and methodical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent presentation and communication skills; polished and professional
- Ability to work independently and under deadlines
- Willing and excited to travel regularly
Trial Period
This position has a three-month trial period where we’ll monitor your performance and progress across a handful of key growth metrics. You’ll see these metrics on dashboards daily, and we’ll meet weekly to discuss them. This is an opportunity for both you and us to gauge how things are going and be honest with each other about it.
Compensation (salary + commission + bonus)
- On-Target Earnings (OTE)
OTE (on-target earnings) for this position is $107,000 - a combination of:
- $50,000 in salary
- $50,000 in commission
- $7,000 in annual bonus
- Base Salary
Your base salary is $50,000.
- Gross Profit Commission
On top of your base salary you’ll receive a 20% commission on the gross profit Newaya generates from new carriers you’ve signed on and new programs you’ve launched to improve performance with existing carrier accounts. This commission is uncapped, and we expect the right candidate to be able to meet and surpass stated OTE within 12-24 months of dedicated sales work.
Commission will be measured automatically and displayed on a live dashboard that you have access to.
- Annual Incentive Bonus
You will be eligible to participate in Newaya’s Annual Incentive Bonus. Newaya’s target bonus opportunity is 7% of your annual gross compensation.

Vision, dental, life, and long-term disability coverage are provided by Guardian. Newaya will pay 75% of your premiums. You will be responsible for 25% of your own premiums and 100% of the premiums for your dependents should you wish to cover them under the same policy.

You may purchase up to five mobile devices from Newaya’s inventory per year at cost. These must be for you and friends/family, not for resale.
- Unlimited Vacation and Sick Leave
Newaya offers an unlimited vacation and sick leave policy to make employment terms simple under sporadic or unforeseen life circumstances. We also take two team vacations each year - one around July 4th in the summer and one at the end of the year.
For vacation, our goal is for you to take roughly two weeks off during the year for fun with the flexibility of having a day off here and there when you need it for personal, family, or fun time. Vacation days are paid as a normal work day (8 hours at full-time).
For sick leave, our goal is to keep everyone in the office healthy and low-stress. Please don’t come to work if you’re sick and contagious. Either work from home on those days if you feel up to it or rest and focus on healing so you can come back to work with a clear head.
