We are looking for a:Business Certification Officer 1

Who will act as an operative technician engaged in the certification, compliance, and monitoring of businesses in the MBE/EDGE/WBE/VFBE programs throughout the state of Ohio.

What You'll Do:

  • Present technical assistance to state agencies and MBE/EDGE/WBE/VBE business.
  • Assist in developing and conducting training workshops and seminars.
  • Provide statewide guidance for MBE/EDGE/WBE/VBE and affirmative action/EEO compliance (e.g. compliance reviews)
  • Assist and advise agency representatives on policies and procedures critical to implementation and compliance with MBE/EDGE/WBE/VBE program standards.
  • Meet and Respond verbally and in writing to inquiries from business owners and/or their representatives concerning program policies, procedures and qualification guidelines for program participation
  • Perform related administrative and record keeping tasks: drafts letters, reports and memos. Submit weekly compliance reports, maintain various electronic databases. Enter updates into computer databases to maintain accurate and complete records.

Qualifications

12 months training or 12 months experience in interviewing; 9 months training or 9 months experience in EEO and affirmative action regulations and procedures; 6 months training or 6 months experience in public relations; must be able to provide own transportation.
  • Or 6 months experience as EEO Contract/Program Technician, 69160; must be able to provide own transportation.
