About the Role
PREMIER Bankcard is looking for an analytical individual to expand its team in Risk Management MIS to provide support for Collections analytics in the form of applying advanced analytic techniques and tools. This position is responsible for researching and responding to escalated complaints; identifying issues and determining root causes; servicing customer inquiries on social media and maintaining service levels; assisting system owner of company intranet; servicing confidential credit card accounts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Duties include compilation of customer data, portfolio statistical data, and performance data from multiple sources to provide consultation/expert advice to management.
- Must interpret links between data being pulled and the impact to the overall business.
- Ensure analytic assumptions are accurate and based upon sound financial and/or statistical principles.
- Ad-hoc reporting and report edits (Determine appropriate data sets, design and write the appropriate queries, assess/interpret data results, determine output methods along with actionable recommendations, review with applicable management).
- Assist senior staff or management in completion of special projects as assigned.
- Communicating and clarifying with business areas to determine/identify reporting needs and business/customer requirements that are related to long/short-term goals of the business.
- Must be able to fulfill the responsibilities of the position with Management oversight; assesses priorities and changing needs, and coordinate with others accordingly.
- Basic statistical modeling and analysis of data using advanced software.
- Seek out business opportunities and provide recommendations to Management.
- Research new and innovative analytic techniques in support of business initiatives.
- Conduct tasks in a manner that complies with all consumer protection regulations and treats consumers fairly.
Skills and Qualifications
- Combination of education/experience (2-4 years) that would enable incumbent to meet essential functions and required competencies of the position.
- Must possess basic understanding of credit card system.
- Required competencies include: PC skills including SQL, Excel and Word.
- Additional consideration given with SAS (or like modeling software) and Power BI experience.
- Degree or advanced degree in Data Science/Analytics preferred.
- Degree or advanced degree in related fields such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Actuarial and Business Administration and/or a combination of degree and/or relevant experience are accepted.
- Able to facilitate the flow of work within the department(s) and as work is received from and provided to the department(s), within established productivity and quality requirements.
- Engage in independent self-direction; assesses priorities and changing needs and directs oneself accordingly.
- Ability to independently write queries, understand data table relationships and structures, and formulate actionable conclusions.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical, organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills.

- Additional consideration given with dialer system management experience.
