Job Description:
The Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) at Iowa State University, is seeking qualified candidates for a Business Administrator.
The Business Administrator position is a multifaceted role that involves third-party process management, financial management, and regulatory reporting. Responsible for managing third-party contractors, handling the invoicing processes, and ensuring compliance with federal program requirements, this position requires a blend of financial acumen, project management skills, and strong communication abilities. This role is vital for the smooth operation of CIRAS and contributes significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work of the Center.
The ideal candidate will have a background in financial management, contract administration, and project management. Critical skills for success include excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. All staff members are expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
This is a fixed term position, with potential for renewal. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Example of Duties
- Establishes financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analysis.
- Reviews and reconciles transactions for required documentation, allowability and appropriateness, and necessary corrections for non-approved transactions.
- Manages overall invoicing process for customers/clients in Salesforce.
- Manages the regulatory reporting of programmatic metrics to Federal sponsors.
- Responsible for the development, procedures, and management of the CIRAS third party process, including l eading third party request for proposals (RFP) process.
- Identifies, recruits, manages, and evaluates third party contractors in the performance of established projects and fulfillment of agreed scope of work and budget.
