In a special school setting, under supervision of the Chief of Plant, the Building Maintenance Worker performs all duties as required.
The position of Building Maintenance Worker is an entry level position in the Plant Operations Department. The BMW assists various trades workers in completing Building Maintenance repairs. Responds to work orders and makes notations on work orders. Takes measurements and procures materials. Maintains trades shops in a neat and orderly manner. Operates mechanical equipment such as forklifts, hydraulic lifts. Performs minor Building Maintenance repairs such as painting, changing light bulbs, installing blinds, door closures, door stops, paper towel dispensers, hanging bulletin boards, drywall repairs. May be assigned to work assist custodians and groundskeepers. Work schedule may be adjusted to meet the operational needs of the department.

Working Conditions
Subject to fingerprinting and criminal record clearance by the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation and Tuberculosis clearance. This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.

**EXAMINATION**
