The qualified Building automation Application Engineer should possess a combination of technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to effectively design, implement, and maintain automation systems for buildings. Technical Knowledge: a. Strong understanding of Building Automation systems (BAS) and their components. b. Proficiency in automation protocols and standards, such as BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, or KNX. c. Familiarity with HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, lighting control, security systems, and energy management. d. Ability to work with automation software and tools, including programming languages like C++, and Modbus TPI
Knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, sensors, actuators, and data communication networks.
System Integration: a. Experience in integrating various building systems to create a seamless and efficient automation environment. b. Skill in troubleshooting and resolving integration issues.
Programming and Software Skills: a. Proficiency in programming controllers and automation systems. b. Knowledge of automation software platforms like Automated Logic, Niagara Framework, and Tridium. c. Ability to develop custom scripts and programs to optimize system performance.
Problem-Solving: a. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address issues with automation systems. b. Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Compliance and Regulations: a. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and energy efficiency standards. b. Ability to design and implement systems that comply with relevant codes and standards.
