Your day-to-day work will include:

A Budget Analyst II provides a broad array of support services and will perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:

  • Serves as a junior analyst to systematically integrate business and financial management processes to
  • ensure the efficient stewardship of public funds.
  • Possesses a general understanding of the budget formulation, execution, cost estimating, and administration process.
  • Ability to monitor and track obligation and expenditure of funds, detect, reconcile and remedy fiscal discrepancies, and provide cost effective, insightful reporting to decision makers.
  • Under contractor supervision, assesses products and procedures for compliance with Government standards, accounting principles and multi-tiered system application standards.
  • Familiar with financial management, business case analysis, cost estimating and/or outsourcing requirements.
  • Cognizant of interrelationships between financial management requirements and automated solutions, considering the current system environment and the potential integration of added systems concurrently or later.
  • Proficient with Excel.


Specific job responsibilities to support the GRC Resource Analysis Division (RAD):

The Contractor shall update and maintain tables for project definitions, work breakdown structures (WBS), and cost centers; conduct data validation and reconciliation of accounts and recommend functionality enhancement opportunities; document, map, and update system/operational processes and functionality; and support program analysts and Center end users throughout the budget formulation and budget execution process to reconcile and validate data input within guideline and system business rules, which include the following core functions:

  • The Contractor shall support the overall integration for the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) Integration Support process including assisting with phasing plan development activities and developing the overall reporting solution at the Center.
  • Assist the Center resources community with Budget Execution across multiple fiscal years.
  • Provide monthly variance reports on obligations, cost and schedule impacts vs. Lead Center Phasing Plan (differs from NASA GRC phasing plan).
  • Assist the Center resources community with funds distribution and management of the funding including multiple appropriations, program years and commitment items.
  • Serve as Point Of Contact (POC) for Resources community on budget execution process and implementation of process improvements.
  • Assist Center resources community with funding of major contracts.
  • Understanding of PR process and need for monitoring and establishing benchmarking.
  • Assist the Center resources community with workforce labor and cost activities, labor analysis of multiple programs and projects.
  • Develop materials and/or curriculum for Business Objects (BOBJ) and Program Management Tool (PMT) training courses.

Experience Requirements:

  • HS Diploma + 4 years or greater of related experience
  • BA/BS Degree + 2 years of related experience
  • MA/MS Degree 0-2 years of related experience

Candidates for this position must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Work hours:

    Here at Aeyon we believe in creating an environment that fosters a healthy work/ life balance. The typical day consists of a 9-5 Monday-Friday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week, but we do realize that life happens, and things come up. Many of our positions allow some flexibility in the work schedule for unforeseen events so that our employees can maintain a 40-hour work week and still have the opportunity to meet other obligations during the workday.

    Security Clearance:

    For most positions at Aeyon, a candidate must have or be able to obtain a company sponsored security clearance. A security clearance is like a background check. Although the security clearance process involves several stages, the key steps to obtaining and maintaining a security clearance are pre-investigation, investigation, adjudication, and reinvestigation.
