The Office of Budget and Management (OBM) welcomes applications for its Budget Management Analyst Supervisor position. For this prestigious opportunity, we seek a future-focused leader who has exceptional analytical skills and demonstrated experience in state budgeting.A candidate should possess the ability to identify, analyze and flag potential financial and budgetary risk, while working closely with senior leadership including the Governor's Office in presenting their observations, findings, or concerns.

 

What You'll Do:

This position will lead a team of Budget Management Analysts (BMAs) who review agency budget and policy requests and make recommendations to OBM leadership and to members of the Governor's office in developing the state's $70 billion budget.  This position will also coordinate large, complex projects across sections of the budget team, provide fiscal and programmatic analysis to inform decisions, and advise agencies concerning fiscal and program policies and their budgetary implications. The BMA Supervisor will represent the department and offer testimony at hearings and other occasions.


The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, both orally and written, and confident in making recommendations in group settings with executive level staff. The selected candidate should be able to think critically to draw valid impact/outcomes for new programs or identifying creative funding solutions to meet agency needs.

Teleworking Option

Subject to OBM's teleworking policy and an approved teleworking agreement, this position is eligible to work from a remote location on a hybrid basis.  The selected applicant may be required to complete initial trainings prior to being eligible to telework.  All requests to telework are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by OBM's Director of Human Resources and management, subject to the conditions outlined in the agency policy and teleworking agreement.

Completion of graduate major core program in public or business administration, public policy, resource management, finance, economics or related area; 36 mos. exp. in public administration.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Budget/Management Analyst 4, 63224.
-Or 6 mos. exp. as Budget/Management Analyst 5, 63225.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
