Head CoachParaprofessional Position - 7347 Salary:Reports to: Athletic Director SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIESCoach in various secondary school interscholastic athletic programs REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPromote sports in the schools and communityPlan the assigned athletic programOrganize and supervise practicesTeach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the gameTeach good sportsmanship and self-controlCheck eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consentProvide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidanceConduct learning experiences, with small groups of student athletesRecommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletesUtilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as outlined at the school/districtMaintains regular and predictable attendanceAdheres to the professional code of ethicsSuccessfully utilizes technology as appropriate in job functionPerform related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESKNOWLEDGE OF:Fundamentals of various sportsHealth and safety regulationsInterpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesyABILITY TO:Assist coaches on one or more sportsUnderstand and follow oral and written directionsRead, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and proceduresMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination equivalent to: a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate, a minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university and one year of experience coaching in a school athletic program. (If hired, you must bring an original, sealed college transcript showing 64 hours or more if you are hired as a Head Coach.
