Position Title: Brewer
Position Summary: Working with the rest of the production team, the Brewer’s primary job function will be wort production but will be involved in all aspects of working in a production facility. Responsibilities will vary day to day with an opportunity to grow.

Brewing (50-60%)
- Brew wort on a 15 bbl, two vessel, brewhouse in accordance with Dru Bru’s recipes and Standards of Practice. A typical brewday is executed in 10-12 hours and includes 2 turns (30 BBL of total wort production) that is split between two brewers (early and late). Responsibilities on a brewday would include (but would not be limited to) the following:
- Ingredient handling & measurement (malt, hops, yeast, etc)
- Collecting and recording of brewing data captured throughout the brew day
- Collection and removal of spent grain (Dru Bru’s brewhouse does include rakes which remove the majority of grain mechanically)
- Rinsing of brewhouse and cleaning the brewing area at the end of the brewday
- Maintain and organize the hops in the Cle Elum walk-in
- Ensure that Ekos accurately reflects the quantities of raw materials used in a single day.
- Actively participate in the ‘Hot Side’ meeting; bringing a comprehensive overview of the previous week’s brewing data.
- Maintain data organization across multiple platforms (Ekos, BeerSmith, and the Brewday App). Troubleshoot when one of these platforms is malfunctioning and communicate the issue with the production manager.
Assisting in the Monitoring and Processing of Beer within the Cellar (40-50%)
- Perform gravity checks on fermenting beers
- Dry hop and clarify beers as needed
- Harvest yeast
- Transfer beer in process and carbonate
- Assist in the milling of brews, as dictated by the production schedule
- Conduct CIPs on tanks (as needed) and the brewhouse (weekly on Mondays)
- Assist in the packaging of finished product (kegging and/or canning)
- Work with brewery management to maintain and repair equipment
- Work with the quality control team as requested (tasks would include preparing samples for analysis, participating in sensory analysis, and more)
- Occasionally hop on the canning line to assist with the outflow when it is needed
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a production brewery.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to multitask, prioritize and adapt to changing situations.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate notes.
- Lift 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder high.
- Lift 110 lbs. from ground to waist high and move 150 lbs. along the floor.
- Work safely with chemicals with reasonable safety accommodations.
- Work in loud environment with basic safety accommodation

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.50 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
