ABOUT THE ROLE
Breakfast Attendants oversee all aspects of the breakfast service at a hotel. Their responsibilities include establishing and cleaning the breakfast service for guests, ensuring that the buffet remains fully stocked at all times, and responding to inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Breakfast Attendants provide a quality dining experience for the guests by providing a safe, clean, and healthy environment through well-cooked quality food, excellent presentation, and great service.
Essential Duties:
- Be able to set up and maintain the breakfast buffet and seating area, including setting tables, preparing food items, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Monitor and maintain food and supply levels and notify management of any inventory needs.
- Be able to follow all health and safety guidelines as provided by hotel and management.
- Be able to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other hotel departments to ensure smooth operation of breakfast service
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds.
Specific Requirements of this role:
- Set up breakfast area with food, beverages, and appropriate tableware.
- Prepare all hot and cold items according to instructions.
- Ensure all items are fresh and well-stocked, presented in an appealing manner.
- Check and control the proper storage of products, especially on all fresh produce to maintain a quality product.
- Break down and put away all food items after breakfast is complete.
- Cleaning and disinfection of tables, countertops, floors, and windows after each meal service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service.
- Previous experience in the hotel industry or in a similar role preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to work a morning shift.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Solid knowledge of food safety guidelines.
