Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to direct, coordinate, and supervise activities concerned with Press room Department. The lead oversees the processes of press operators, Brake Press operators, and robot operators. This includes safety, quality, and productivity. The lead holds operators accountable to meeting goals of the department and company while supporting a team-based atmosphere. Opening on 1st shift, running Mon-Fri, from 7am-3:30pm.
Must have experience programming and running press brake machines (Cincinnati preferred). Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance offered, as well as paid time off and 401k with matching.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs mechanical press setups, which includes setups of complex dies and feed systems.
- Performs press brake setups, which includes new part development and tooling changes.
- Works to supply products and services that meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. Follows the documented quality systems and processes that are continually being improved to satisfy our customers’ needs.
- Train and assist employees running presses, robot welders, and Brake Presses including set up, running of machines and trouble shooting.
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
- Prioritizing orders and insuring accurate flow of materials for internal and external customers.
- Perform 1stpiece inspections.
- May set up and operate machine tools associated with press operations, robot welding, and Brake Presses.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
- Work with various departments to locate processed materials, check quality, and obtain work instructions.
- Work with HR, supervisor and employees regarding any attendance or performance issues.
- May assist Plant Manager or other Supervisors in other duties or special projects as needed.

- Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications.
- Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating materials.
- Safety and Security; Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety for the protection of people and property.
- Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events: Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Climbing up to 8 feet while assisting maintenance.
- Controlling Machines and Processes: Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
- Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings: Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
- Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Tools: Personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes etc.), measuring tapes, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Technology: Copier, fax and computer.
Qualifications
- The position requires experience setting dies and Brake Presses.
- This position requires the individual to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-2 years of specific vocational preparation; or equivalent combination of experience.
Working Environment and Conditions
- Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and be able to communicate verbally and in writing and take directions. The employee is frequently required to be in a stationary position, move about the buildings and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, operate machinery, and use eye-hand coordination.
