Overview
The Bookkeeper maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions by processing all daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic data to provide accurate and timely financial reports as required. Also performs administrative services to support company and/or client functions as necessary. Works in conjunction with staff in both offices to ensure the timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
Has primary client responsibility and is assigned to other key areas of responsibility including technical and administrative duties. Serves as advisor to clients aiming at maximizing engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process client invoices
- Weekly check runs, monthly credit card payments
- Monthly and on-demand billing
- Weekly receivable reports and collections
- Bank and credit card accounts reconciliations
- Maintain job numbers in accounting systems
- Journal entries including accruals and deferrals, revenue reconciliation
- Build relationships with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise.
- Communicate effectively with clients and staff to develop positive relationships.
- Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
- Manage multiple clients, budgets, and production goals.
- Serve as primary client contact and liaison.
- Participate in practice development/marketing activities.
- Work will be accomplished primarily during standard office hours, with variable evening and weekend hours depending on deadlines and workloads
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major concentration in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Five years of applicable experience may substitute for education requirement
- Proficient with MS Office.
Experience
- Minimum of three years of bookkeeping experience.
Supervisory Relationships
- None
Working Conditions
- Office environment.
- Routine extended working hours during peak work cycles.
- Travel between Parkersburg and Ripley office locations.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Telephone use.
- Writing by hand.
- Occasionally stand/walk, lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Reaching/working above shoulder level.
