Job description

Duties:
The BCBA will provide Applied Behavior Analytic services (including functional analysis and assessment, skills-based assessments, development and delivery of treatment plans, and parent training) to clients ranging in ages for 5-18 years of age. The BCBA will also provide supervision and oversight of any Behavioral Health Technician-ABA (ABA-BHT) or staff certified as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT’s) on their caseload including supervision of implementation of programming and documentation requirements. The BCBA will also develop trainings to assist with the understanding and facilitation of behavioral analysis skills necessary to assist these staff in meeting the certifying requirements of BCaBA or the completion of RBT (40-hour training curriculum) and successful completion of a competency-based assessment as rated by BCBA.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in the development of agency trainings on various topics including but not listed to: Applied Behavior Analysis, teaching strategies, regulatory requirements, supervision, parent training.
  • Conduct skills assessments, functional assessments, and analyses when appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Ongoing training and supervision of paraprofessional staff (Behavioral Health Technician-ABA or ABA-BHT) in implementation of ABA principles and methodology and behavior reduction strategies.
  • Create ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers, and to analyze date on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
  • Develop behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers with a focus on teaching, skill development and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
  • Promote family engagement as active participants in treatment (e.g., assist in the understanding of diagnosis, scope of ABA services, collaboration with resource identification and encouraging families to utilize natural supports; until goals are met leading to a successful discharge.
  • Meet as needed with supervised staff to discuss ongoing consumer issues and to provide support when necessary.
  • Utilize a designated ABA program to enter session notes as the end of each session.
  • Provide consultation services and to maintain going communication with treatment team embers (other support, parent, community, and community agencies).
  • Keep current with the literature, new research finding and resources. In addition, continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification are necessary (32 credits every 2 years) and IBHS regulations (16 credits every year).
  • Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between personal care staff and families.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or related Human Services field.
  • Successful completion of internship and/or formal training in the Applied Behavior Analysis and instructional strategies training related to working with client who have pervasive developmental disorders and related disorders, their parent, and other agencies working with clients.
  • Have previous experience working in a home-based setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skill, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to work with a variety of clients regarding age, functionality, with minimal direction.
  • Certified as a BCBA for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Licensed as a Behavior Specialist in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Flexible availability.
  • Current on all required trainings/certifications (CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter, etc.,).
  • Transportation that is reliable and insured in the State of Pennsylvania (with record of insurance on file).
  • Have a valid Pennsylvania’s Driver License.
