We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our team and lead initiatives within the SAP Business Network, focusing on the supply chain sector. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic vision to develop and manage innovative SAP product solutions that enhance supply chain processes. This role requires a professional adept in navigating the SAP ecosystem, with a keen ability to drive product development and lifecycle management. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong capacity for strategic planning, stakeholders' management, and a collaborative spirit to work closely with cross-functional teams. This position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing our supply chain solutions, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our customers. 

This role is particularly focused on the critical area of supplier integration, aiming to significantly improve operational efficiencies and collaboration within our business networks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leveraging technology to foster seamless integration of tools and processes to build robust and scalable ecosystem for our trading partners. 

We are looking for a product professional who excels in executive communications, public relations and/or corporate messaging experience, and can proactively develop communications plans and strategies that will help us bring the Business Network strategy across inside our own organization but also across all of SAP. 

 

Key tasks and responsibilities : 

  • Develop and Enhance PRDs: Craft detailed Product Requirements Documents that outline functionalities, system behavior, and user interfaces, aligning with both technical capabilities and business objectives. 

  • Lead Feature Lifecycle Management: Manage the development, launch, and iteration of features from a technical standpoint, prioritizing based on strategic importance and customer feedback. 

  • Strategize Technical Roadmaps: Create and maintain product roadmaps that outline the technical progression of the product, integrating new technologies and market opportunities. 

  • Guide Agile Product Planning: Utilize agile methodologies to adapt to shifts in technology and market demands, facilitating flexible product development cycles. 

  • Ensure Technical Collaboration Across Functions: Act as the technical bridge between engineering, marketing, and sales teams, ensuring technical considerations are factored into product strategies. 

  • Monitor Technology Trends: Stay abreast of emerging technology trends relevant to the product, including advancements in cloud computing, AI/ML, and data analytics, to drive innovation. 

  • Communicate Technical Features: Effectively explain complex technical features and benefits to non-technical stakeholders, promoting product understanding and adoption. 

  • Employ Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics and performance metrics to inform product development priorities and enhance user experience based on data insights. 

  • Translate Visions into Technical Specifications: Convert product visions into precise technical specifications for engineering teams, including data schemas, and integration guidelines. 

  • Manage Technical Aspects of Product Launches: Collaborate with engineering and marketing on technical preparations for product launches, ensuring new features or products are seamlessly introduced to the market. 

  

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science is required. 

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in product management and/or software development and web technologies, with a preference for hands-on experience​ 

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning processes 

  • Communications superstar  

  • Creative, an “outside the box” thinker  

  • Able to quickly assess the lay of the land, ask good questions, and be curious about everything. 

  • Adaptable and highly functional in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing environment. 

  • Versatile with ability to shift between tactical and strategic thinking. 

  • Demonstrated strength in working collaboratively with, and across, a variety of global, cross-functional teams. 

  • Understanding of business network scenarios, market trends and competitive landscape  

  • Understanding of SAP’s strategy and product portfolio.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 185,100 - 403,800 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
