Science Teacher
Fenwick High School is a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school. Founded in 1929 by the Dominican Friars, this private school of over 100 faculty and staff is dedicated to empowering our students to grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically in a disciplined and diverse environment. The school offers a rigorous academic program, including college prep, honors and AP coursework, as well as a variety of clubs, athletics and service opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will start ASAP and will continue through the rest of the school year. This position has the possibility of it becoming a permanent position in the following school year. This full-time position will include 4 Biology classes in an eight-period day, two days a week are double periods for labs to occur. Teachers are expected to pursue professional development, collaborate in their academic departments, and to become involved in student activities as coaches or club moderators and attendees at school events. Teachers must also communicate regularly with parents through the biweekly posting of students' grades.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor of Arts degree in Science (Biology) (Master's preferred)
Illinois Professional Educator's License (PEL)
High School teaching experience preferred
Ability to use technology in instruction and for student learning
Familiarity with 1:1 iPad use in the classroom a plus
