Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Biologist to join our Environmental Planning Group in Portland, Oregon. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to: prepare biological resources sections and reports related to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Endangered Species Act (ESA) compliance; lead the preparation of and review biological assessments, biological evaluations, and other biology-related reports; and mentor junior staff on a variety of projects related to rivers and fish.

Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
• Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
• Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant biological experience related to NEPA, ESA, water resource management, fisheries, biological assessment, related environmental areas or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid Driver's license 

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant project and/or research experience with NEPA, ESA, water resource management, fisheries, and biological assessments
• Excellent written communication skills
• Master’s degree in a related field

Additional Information

• Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation in Oregon will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $120,000.
