Billing Specialist

This position allows for remote work and may require travel for business meetings.

TheBilling Specialist is an integral member of the Revenue Cycle Team and will be responsible for:

• Ensure timely billing for all payers, both primary and secondary.
• Work all rejected claims in the EMR system and clearing house daily.
• Analyze and trend common errors and relay feedback to front office.
• Collaborate with all parties to maintain denial prevention methods.
• Maintain accurate notes and communication in the patient’s ledger/chart, when making changes to the patients account.
• Basic knowledge of billing per state/county requirements.
• Accelerated understanding of insurances and specific plan types.
• Ability to drive clean claims with proper placement of data elements onto each claim.
• Track and report on all unbilled claims weekly to the RCM team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in all facets of healthcare payer environment
• Computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
• Excellent oral communication skills and phone presence.
• Understanding of quality customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency.
• Experience with a variety of EMR systems, Raintree experience is a plus.
