THE POSITION
THE DAY-TO-DAY
Calculates and accurately bills water and sewer customers monthly in a timely manner.
Reviews meter readings and digital files to determine the amount that each customer should be charged for their water usage. Develops spreadsheets to perform calculations and track data.
Processes payments and makes deposits in the company bank account.
Performs general bookkeeping work, including entering data, maintaining records, invoices, and supporting documentation.
Distribute and close out work orders and Dig Safely requests.
Coordinates, schedules and updates meter change outs.
Enters new clients and water meter data into water and sewer billing systems.
Provides excellent customer service to all clients and managers by responding quickly and accurately to requests, service calls and emergency situations while remaining calm and professional.
Maintains client files, reports, and governmental paperwork. Strives to keep as much as possible electronically to reduce environmental impact and waste.
Ability to multitask and deal with interruptions.
Perform other duties as required.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES DESIRED
Basic understanding of clerical and administrative procedures.
3-5 Years Billing Experience, water preferred
Ability to work independently and be self motivated.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid state driver’s license with no DUIs and no more than 3 violations in the past three (3) years.
Willingness to learn and use other software programs
Excellent typing skills with a minimum words per minute of 50
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Ability to speak and hear: 4 to 5 hrs/day
- Use Hands & Fingers to type, copy, answer phones, etc. 4 to 5 hrs/day
- Physical Effort: Regularly lift 10-25 pounds
- Vision: Must be able to Distinguish Color and have Close & Distance Vision
- Environmental Stress: Busy Atmosphere, Noise Level is Moderate.
