This position is full-time. Our office is located at 4622 State Highway 28 Hartwick NY 13326. Employees will be required to work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home.

*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal partners and / or external customers / payers to resolve customer issues.
• Reconcile discrepancies identified within customer invoices / billing and reports
• Monitor outstanding balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed
• Perform follow up actions including correcting payer rejections, checking claim status, updating patient registration related items, and rebilling claims as necessary to ensure claims are processing in a timely fashion; escalate issues as appropriate to Senior Billing and Insurance Follow Up Representatives or leadership.
• Provide input to policies, systems, methods and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function
• Educate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications
• Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables
• Research and resolve problems during and after calls within a high volume, demanding environment.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED (or higher) OR 2+ years of billing experience working within a healthcare setting
• Proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex computer system applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
• Previous experience in billing or collections

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Reside within commutable distance to Hartwick, NY
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
