JOB DESCRIPTION

HHHC is looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented, and hard-working professional to lead our Billing team full-time. This individual is responsible for managing the organization’s billing department. This position will focus on development and implementation processes including billing and collections activities, eligibility, authorizations, and affiliations. The Billing Manager will recommend policy and procedural changes to ensure continuous improvement in essential job functions. While carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the Billing Manager will ensure all values of client satisfaction, care for our caregivers, accountability, transparency, and teamwork are evident in all actions and encounters.

THE ROLE

You will work directly with the Billing team to:

  • Manage the organization’s billing functions, resolving any issues in a timely manner and strategically allocate team capacity to complete time-sensitive work
  • Ensure clients are eligible for services received and federal/state regulations are adhered to and stay current in your knowledge of federal/state changes that affect billing
  • Monitor and manage the status of claims to limit the number of accounts receivable aging, spenddowns, and write offs
  • Manage prior authorization/eligibility/affiliation functions for the organization
  • Ensure the proper receipt, data entry, documentation, digital record filing, and notifications of all authorizations
  • Manage billing department staff, providing staff with necessary training, communicating organizational changes, performance, and general information
  • Provide timely performance feedback to staff, addressing performance concerns in a timely and effective manner
  • Lead creation of SOPs for documentation and training purposes to teach your team important billing steps and best practices and keep these SOPs up to date
  • Implement and manage technical software processes and procedural flows, both from a regulator and performance improvement standpoint
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior industry knowledge (Billing, Accounts receivable, DHS compliance, understanding of home and community based services, MNITS state software, PMAP)
  • Extensive knowledge of third-party payer reimbursement systems, rules and regulations relating to A/R
  • Prior experience managing teams and developing and coaching people on your teams
  • Critical thinker and analytical with an ability to problem solve and perform root cause analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely organized, work with a high level of confidentiality
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Strong time management with an ability to balance and prioritize a variety of tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • A positive, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude with a “no task is too small” mindset is a MUST

Due to the important nature of the projects this position will be supporting, this position is at our office in St. Paul. We are hiring for this position immediately.

The salary for this role represents a pay range. Please note that awarded salaries are commensurate with a candidate's experience.
