Housing for Health OC (HHOC) is a nonprofit organization that serves as an administrative hub for a network of homeless service providers. HHOC is contracted with CalOptima Health for services under the CalAIM initiative. These services include housing navigation, housing deposits, housing sustainability and tenancy, day habilitation, short term post hospitalization, and enhanced care management. HHOC is recruiting for an hourly Billing and Claims Specialist, up to 20 hours weekly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years working in claims, billing, or similar field
- Proficient with Excel, QuickBooks.
- Must be able to assist with budget documents and accounting forms.
- Ability to work with multiple providers and in a team environment.
- Understand day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Compile and record provider claims and submit monthly.
- Work closely with accounting team to ensure reimbursements are issued and recorded monthly.
- Identifying and troubleshoot claims errors.
- Develop and maintain relationship with CalOptima Billing and Claims department.
- Understand and master CalOptima Health connect, InstaMed, Office Ally, and Epic systems.
- Meet with Providers to answer billing/claims/reconciliation questions.
- Analyze, manage, and facilitate provider dispute resolutions for denied claims.
- Review, identify, and set a process for claims’ errors.
- Participate in HHOC Administrative meeting, weekly.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Chief Administrative Officer
The Assignment
· The position is primarily remote but may be asked to attend in person meetings.
· The position is offered as a 1099 contract employee. The position offers flexibility, and the potential for a yearly performance bonus.
· HHOC is a growing nonprofit, and the position could grow and expand.
· The position will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and work in partnership with the Accounting Team.
· The ideal candidate will have a proactive and positive outlook to the assignment. Being able to work independently and within a team environment simultaneously will be best suited for the role.
· The ideal candidate will have a grasp of Medi-Cal Billing and managed care plans.
· The ideal candidate will be a people person and have an ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with their colleagues internally and externally.
