General Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the ECE manager, the ECE Program Support Specialist provides routine department support and/or enrollment services to assigned programs.
Salary:
The full range for this position is $43,401.56 - $52,804.04. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
Assignment:
This position will be full-time, year-round. A health exam, including a TB test, and clearance through DCYF is required prior to the start date. The candidate in this role will provide enrollment support.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

  1. Receive and screen phone calls and visitors.
  2. Enter data in multiple databases.
  3. Establish and maintain professional, effective working relationships with families, staff and community partners.
  4. Adhere to program performance standards.
  5. Maintain confidentiality.
  6. Receive and complete incoming and cyclical clerical work.
  7. Travel to various locations, i.e child care sites, home visits, and community events.

When providing enrollment support:

  1. Support families in gathering all necessary paperwork for enrollment.
  2. Utilize a variety of documents to determine eligibility and complete in person applications.
  3. Distribute outreach materials and participate in outreach events.
  4. Screen and process referrals.
  5. Engage in planning and delivery of multifaceted recruitment strategies.

Other Functions:

  1. Other duties as assigned.
  2. Plan and facilitate child activities at events as needed.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Experience in an office environment that includes customer service
  3. Experience using Microsoft Office programs and other databases.
  4. Bilingual: Spanish/English.
  5. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
  1. Experience answering multiple phone lines.
  2. Experience working in an Early Childhood program.
  3. Experience with child care enrollment using the Procare system.
  4. Recent successful experience using data bases for information management.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  1. Office environment.
  2. Operate keyboard to accomplish required tasks.
  3. Perform stationary routine and repetitive functions for extended periods.
  4. Frequent sitting, stooping and bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  5. Regular attendance during scheduled work hours that can include events in the evening and on weekends.
  6. Ability to travel to multiple sites throughout Clark County.
Employment Requirements - ESD job offer is contingent upon satisfying the following:
  1. Successful completion of a portable background check an d clearance through the WA State Department of Children, Youth, & Families.
  2. Tuberculosis test to meet state health requirements.
  3. Health Exam.
