The Medical Assistants in our practice perform a variety of functions and are an important part of our practice. In addition to rooming patients, taking vitals, and documenting information in the patient chart, they may also prepare sterile trays for vein procedures and assist physicians during procedures. MAs also make and receive phone calls and assist with insurance verifications and scheduling. It's a fun, fast-paced job!

Summary
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining patient records. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling insurance information and verifying patient information. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a friendly and professional demeanor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
· Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries or directing calls to the appropriate department.
· Maintain patient records and update information in athenahealth.
· Distribute forms to patients and review them for completion of required fields.
· Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary.
· Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients.
· Register new patients and update necessary records.
· Process patient payments in the office.
· Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
· Provide administrative support to the clinical team as needed.
· Managing office supplies and maintaining an organized and clean reception area.
· Assisting patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork.
Qualifications
· Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Knowledge of dental or medical office procedures and terminology.
· Familiarity with medical office systems (athenahealth, etc.).
· Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
· Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a medical office or customer service role is a plus.
Experience with EMR software -- Athena EMR experience is strongly preferred

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
