Form of workBilingual Assistant Teacher - Full-time position
The Lycée Français de Chicago* is searching for a bilingual French-English Assistant Teacher to start in January 8th, 2024. The Assistant Teacher helps preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade children become more independent, confident students. They work in harmony with the Teachers to guide and support students in the classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Active participation in the students' progress in French and English.
- Assists and supports students in the learning process
- Assists and supports students in strengthening their autonomy
- Supervision during transitions and recess
- Other school-related tasks, including team meetings.
Requirements:
- Organized and proactive
- Kindness and listening skills, patience and discretion
- French native speaker or perfectly fluent in French, Excellent level of English
- Previous similar childcare experience preferred
- Able to lift 25-30 lbs.
- Able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on the floor, see, hear, and speak with children.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time (approximately 30-32.5 hours per week) position with benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403b with 4% match after 2 years, 70% tuition remission for any children enrolled at the Lycée Français de Chicago, 10% tuition remission for any children enrolled at LFCdaycare, and a generous paid time-off policy.
