Job Title: BI Developer
Location: Red Roof
Reports to: Manager of Big Data Analytics and Business Intelligence
Position Summary: The BI Developer is responsible for building the interfaces and supporting multiple business intelligence tools like Tableau and Microstrategy for the delivery of end-user functionality from the Data Warehouse and other data sources based on functional and technical specification. Responsible for creating OLAP and presentation environments using leading enterprise reporting solutions (MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.)
Principal Duties:
- Develop dynamic dashboards, grids, graphs, scorecards, and statistical reporting utilizing MicroStrategy software. Develop dashboards for mobile and web versions.
- Develop data modeling and data transformation for business intelligence tools like Microstrategy and Tableau. Collaborate with business engagement teams to define dashboards and reporting solutions to meet diverse, complex business needs. Architect future dashboards including the design of the data warehouse tables, Source to Target ETL logic and dashboard development.
- Build data structures and data blending technologies to provide data to Microstrategy and Tableau. Create Schema objects with MicroStrategy Desktop such as Tables, Facts, Attributes, and Hierarchies.
- Develop data structures using Hadoop and Hana to build dashboards, reports and self-service templates.
- Utilize Big Data Platform and Enterprise data warehouse as data sources to build Business intelligence reports and dashboards
- Provide ad-hoc technical support to the user community and provide feedback/reports on system usage and potential bottlenecks.
- Create Hana views for using data stored in SAP BW on Hana systems. Design reports as per business requirement in MicroStrategy from various source systems like Excel and, Microsoft SQL Server.
- Create data models in Hadoop, snowflake platform to enable visualization through BI tools like Microstrategy, Tableau etc.
- Provide feedback/reports on system usage and potential bottlenecks. Develop creative solutions for complex enhancements.
- Responsible for creating Schema objects, Reports, Templates and metadata data using MicroStrategy. Design full life cycle implementation of MicroStrategy, Tableau applications which include business requirements definition, Data Analysis, Data Warehouse Architecture, Logical Data modeling, Physical Data modeling and Validations.
- Be knowledgeable in visualization tools offered by business Intelligence tool and enable/build customized and interactive dashboards to explore the business data.
- Responsible for design plans and technical design documents for development of the application platform
- Create MDX queries for using data stored in SAP BW systems as needed. Design reports as per business requirement in Microstrategy from various source systems like Excel file, Microsoft SQL Server.
- Oversee the management of MicroStrategy Administration Product Suites.
- Collaborate with Security teams to design data models to handle PII data in the Microstrategy and Tableau datasets.
- Work closely with Analytics team to understand the requirements in order to build interfaces that enable datasets for self-service analytics for multiple analytical tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy and future toolsets.
- Recommend changes to policies and established procedures that affect immediate BI teams. Establish and maintain design and development best practices.
- Provide proactive production support for MicroStrategy and other BI/Analytics applications as needed.
- Support the deployment of MicroStrategy mobile configurations to client devices as needed. Customize MicroStrategy Mobile SDK for iOS Enterprise Distribution (partnered with MDM team).

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a technical discipline (e.g., engineering) preferred
- 8+ years of related work experience including 1 to 2 years of business intelligence tool experience
- Exposure to infrastructure design, implementation, support and management solutions
- Knowledge of standard support development frameworks and methodologies
- Knowledgeable in multiple SAP systems (BW,ERP, HANA) preferred
- Fluent with all critical nightly batch processes
- Fluent with the implemented Microstrategy security model
- Fluent in a standard development methodology
- Sound knowledge of Data Warehousing (Star/Snowflake schema) concepts.
- Strong experience on Schema objects like Logical tables, Attributes, Facts, Hierarchies etc.
- Strong experience on Public objects like Metrics, Filter, Prompts, Custom Groups, Consolidations, Reports, Documents and Dashboards
- Must have experience in the following:
- Object Manager
- Enterprise Manager
- Command Manager
- MDX connector
- SQL
- Familiar with iOS platform, XCode SDK and the MicroStrategy, Tableau iOS Client
- Familiarity with operating system, relational databases and data sources Microstrategy, Tableau connects.
- Good knowledge in Star schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Well versed with all MicroStrategy Products Suite namely MicroStrategy Intelligence Server, Architect, Administrator, Desktop, mobile, Web, iPhone and iPad, OLAP Services, Narrowcast Server, Enterprise Manager, Command Manager and Object Manager.
