Overview
The Benefits Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Benefits Department. This is an in-office only opportunity in Pearland.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Answer basic inquiries from managers and employees regarding company policies such as leaves of absences, reasonable accommodations, safety training, and full-time or part-time status
- Monitor and track leave time available by law and company policy
- Review and obtain necessary medical certifications or medical releases related to leaves of absence and workers’ compensation
- Monitor benefits eligibility while employees are on approved leave and calculate catch-up payments after employees return
- Maintain personnel files in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and company policy
- Apply Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and principles of human resources and benefits administration
- Maintain confidentiality
- Maintain awareness of changing labor and employment law
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
- Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
The position requirements include, but are not limited to:
- 3 + years Human Resources experience preferred
- Workday Benefits experience preferred - but not required
- Experience in Microsoft office product suite
