- Establishes a therapeutic relationship with clients to promote optimal learning
- Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills
- Use evidence-based treatment methods to facilitate group and individual treatments
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient information and treatment plan
- Collaborates with family and treatment team members to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment
- Educates new team members of the treatment team that are frequently with the individual for the team to be in one accord
- Performs tasks requested by the case supervisor within boundaries of the BT role when providing treatment
- Completes assessments during treatment to gather information and clinical findings to report to the case supervisor to communicate progress and changes as instructed by the supervisor
- Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations) based on the BCaBA or BCBA’s intervention plan
- Adhere to all facility and licensing standards
- Accurately collects behavior data including A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording
- Previous experience as a behavioral health therapist preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized
- HS Diploma
- Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance required, and reliable transportation
- Must have access to email and phone contact and reply in a timely manner, no less than 48 hours.
- Must be able to pass a background check, Recipient Rights background check and TB test
- Immediate completion of online training RBT modules, CPR, and Fingerprinting
- Must complete additional training after employment including but not limited to; company in-services and required funding source trainings
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, and standing) for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to sit on the floor for extended periods of time
- Must be able to restrain and/or transport while utilizing quick body movements as trained when directed by the supervisor as a last resort
- Must be willing to work in various environments to perform therapy such as home, schools, centers, and community settings.
- Must be willing to drive within a 30-mile radius as needed for treatment of clients in the home, community, and school settings.
