Yolo Community Care Continuum (YCCC) is a non-profit community-based organization serving individuals with serious mental illness.

Our services help individuals develop the skills necessary to live independently in the community.
This position at Solano House, located in Fairfield, is an adult residential program that offers two unique programs. Both programs serve individuals with severe mental illness.
Solano House Foundations is a long-term program that will support individuals that have been appointed by the mental health court. Foundations will provide mental health clients with the environment to learn about and live with their mental health conditions. The Foundations program will run for about 2 years or as required by the mental health court.
Solano House Endurance is a supported housing program that provides residents with affordable housing options. Endurance will provide housing support so that residents can live independently in the community with mental health support.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for providing direct service to clients and for facilitating the smooth day-to-day operation of a voluntary residential mental health facility. The Behavioral Health Tech collaborates as a member of a multi-agency treatment team to develop and implement effective treatment strategies. This is a non-exempt position.
Hiring is contingent upon a full background screening in accordance with California licensing regulations; DOJ/FBI clearance, pre-employment physical and TB clearance. DMV printout and Basic First Aid certification is required prior to employment.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISION
The Behavioral Health Tech reports to the Program Director (and Associate Director if applicable).

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Coursework in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
Experience: One year working with individuals with Behavioral Health issues, preferred.
Knowledge: Knowledge of and belief in the principles of patient-centered treatment. Knowledge of medications and mental health treatment preferred. Follows and applies psychosocial rehabilitation model.
Special Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a team member. Excellent communication skills, both oral, and written. Able to use Office365 products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Teams.
Physical requirements: Must obtain a negative TB test or chest x-ray and clearance on an employment physical. Must be able to lift twenty pounds, view and utilize a computer, documents in writing and/or typed form.

STAFFING AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT
- You must be able to meet staffing and availability requirements. Schedules may be a variety of mid-shifts, swing/evening, graveyard and/or weekend shifts or as program needs.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility. Employees are expected to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start. Employees are expected to remain at work for the entire work schedule.
- Attendance of monthly staff meeting is required
- Follows sick policy and provides proper notification of absence and tardiness in accordance with YCCC’s policy
- You may be directed to work at another agency site when necessary
- Annual training hours required: 20 hours per year
- Completion of the Plan of Supervision is required

Direct Service
- Prepares meals as per weekly menu and cleans up after meal service; meals will include meat items
- Cleans with use of chemicals like bleach and ammonia-based products
- Performs medication passes and assists clients with medications
- Performs medication counts
- Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries with clients
- Review treatment plan goals with clients regularly
- Support clients in accessing community resources
- Provide effective crisis intervention
- Complete assessments accurately and professionally
- Teach independent living skills effectively
- Demonstrate active listening skills
- Utilize individualized approach to client services
Milieu Management/Treatment Environment
- Provide information (verbally and in Communications Log) during shift transition
- Support team members and utilizes a team approach when a crisis occurs
- Be aware of and eliminate stressors in the milieu
- Prepare and facilitate groups as assigned
- Manage milieu to ensure clients feel safe and secure
- Is present at and oversees client activities
- Ensure completion of household chores by clients
- Ensure that milieu is clean, safe and in compliance with Medi-Cal and Community Care Licensing requirements
Communication and Outreach
- Inform Program Director of significant events in a timely manner
- Coordinate with other treatment providers
- Advocate for clients
- Function effectively as a treatment team member
- Demonstrate professional courtesy
- Make appropriate referrals for clients to other services in coordination with Program Director
- Follow up with Emergency Department for medication list and appropriate paperwork
Documentation
- All charts, program documentation, MARs, incident reports, and other forms/reports are completed according to the following criteria:
o Timely
o Objectively (behavioral observations are recorded accurately)
o Thoroughly
o Legibly
- Correctly follows documentation procedures
- Treatment plan goals are developed in tandem with the client and are time limited, observable, measurable, and achievable
- Progress Notes are to be completed during shift
