Remote position - must reside in California.

What You Will Be Doing:

The role of Behavioral Health Program Manager includes implementation of cross-departmental governance, controls, operational, quality and delegate performance as well as compliance oversight. Will execute on strategies to enhance operational performance and oversight, drive achievement on Behavioral Health Quality interventions, lead compliance activities for new and existing mandates, and deliver on statewide Behavioral Health Programs and initiatives. Work is varied and complex and requires a moderate to high degree of professional communication and project management skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Drive performance improvement initiatives for Medi-Cal (accountability set, All-plan letters, and CalAIM), NCQA, including HEDIS), and any other CMS related Behavioral Health Quality Measures.
  • Operate at a strategic business level to ensure projects/programs are in line with the plan’s strategic goals.
  • Consult with all levels including senior management, make recommendations, and influence decision-making.
  • Leverage cross-functional internal and external relationships to drive initiatives forward.
  • Plan and implement multiple and extremely complex projects/programs spanning across business areas.
  • Determine key business issues, develop effective action plans, and implement projects to successful conclusion.
  • Develop and Manage Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop member and provider experience improvement initiatives and collaborate on the development of provider and member communications, manuals and external facing webpages, media, and trainings.
  • Lead compliance with mandates and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and present large, complex data sets in easy-to-consume displays for committee reports and executive communications.

  • Strong Microsoft Office suite technical skills and abilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)

What You Have:

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in Medi-Cal and/or Medicare.
  • Knowledge of Quality measures and quality performance requirements, i.e., NCQA and HEDIS.
  • Exceptional data display and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain and expand knowledge and be easy to work with.
  • Consistent modeling of leadership behavior/values in the industry/workplace are essential.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Mental Health, Healthcare administration or similar field strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of CMS, DMHC, DHCS and NCQA accreditation requirements preferred.
  • Media Training is a plus.

Licenses, Certifications

Preferred

  • Project Management Certification
  • Current and unrestricted license as a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the State of California
