Job Summary:
Manages, coordinates and evaluates the clinical activities of the case managers and staff within the program. Oversees students/ trainees working with or in association with case managers and social workers. Ensures the services provided within the facility interact effectively with a continuum of services required for the patients served are provided in a fiscally sound manner, and meet all regulatory direction. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Manages large program(s) with substantial budget/impact.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five years' experience working with acutely mentally ill patients: Preferred
- One year's leadership experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or Clinical Social Worker (CSW) licensure in the state of practice: Preferred
Department Specific License/Certifications:
- Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI): Required
Essential Functions:
- Manages patient care services in areas of evaluation, crisis intervention, group therapy, case management or utilization review. Coordinates the intake, assessment, and treatment plan development of program patients.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of the interdisciplinary treatment process. Leads the team to achieve measurable results in accordance with the organization's strategic goals.
- Ensures there is appropriate clinical supervision to those persons whose professional activity is related to this position, including clinical staff and students/trainees.
- Represents the organization, serves on interdepartmental and intradepartmental committees, and acts as liaison to the community and community agencies. Provides appropriate referrals to various community resources for post discharge care and treatment, using thorough knowledge of community resources, recovery and sober living homes, assisted living facilities. Facilitates acceptance of these referrals.
- Establishes staffing ratios within allotted hours. Manages patient care and related staff by participating in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, promoting and discharging staff as needed. Conducts annual employee performance evaluations. Coordinates the activities, schedules, and service provision for the Case Managers and all staff within the program.
