Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Clinical Assistant will administer the QPD panel to all PHSC clinic users (within the established age range) at their initial visit and every 6 months thereafter. Additionally, a healthcare provider may request that a QPD panel be conducted at any time on a patient regardless of the timeline of the previous assessment. The QPD panel is a portable hand-held mental health assessment tool that allows healthcare providers to detect mental health problems, which may otherwise go unrecognized in the primary care setting. The Behavioral Health Clinical Assistant will also assist in the maintenance and efficiency of the day to day operations of the Behavioral Health program when needed.
Responsibilities:
1. Employee will explain the purpose and reason for taking the panels to each patient at the time of the screening.
2. Employee will give the panel to each patient in the Behavioral Health screening room, privacy of the exam rooms, or in a vacant room in the BH area if needed.
3. Employee will read the questions to those patients who cannot read.
4. Employee will print out results of each panel taken and make sure a copy is put in the medical chart in the BH section. The panel must be noted properly in the medical chart along with the date and signature of the employee administering the panel.
5. Employee will check the printouts for any out-of-range criteria and inform the attending physician, nurse, or therapist on duty.
6. Employee with enter into Megawest the patient’s six-month panel repeat date.
7. Employee will inform the patient about the BH department and its services and give patients BH pamphlets and cards.
8. Employee will make sure all panels are fully charged daily and put back safely on the bases.
9. Employee will assist the administrative assistant with daily activities as needed.
10. Any other assignments deemed necessary and as assigned.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
