Job Description

The Behavioral Specialist has the responsibility and the accountability for guidance and training of MHT’s on the Behavioral Health Unit. This position requires the full understanding and active participation fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Patrick’s Hospital. It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.

A. Education/Skills: Degree preferred in a Mental Health related field; or 5 years’ experience working in a Behavioral Health Setting.

• If the associate does not have a degree, they must obtain a degree in a related field within 24 months of accepting this position.

B. Experience:

• 5 years’ experience working with psychiatric patients; and 5 years’ experience training and on-boarding Mental Health Technicians preferred.

C. Licenses, Registrations or Certifications:

• Current BLS

• De-Escalation certification within 90 days of employment.
