The Clinical Administrator serves as Administrative Assistant and primary point of contact for Behavioral Health (BH) staff and patients. Manages BH staff referrals and schedules as well as coordinating direct patient care with other team members and departments in keeping with patient centered medical home principles.
Responsibilities include:
- Supports BH department staff in responding to phone and in person requests for BH services.
- Triages BH phone line and forwards clinical calls to the correct team member, responding to in-basket messages and forwarding MyChart messages.
- Scheduling: Opens, monitors, completes and updates BH schedules for all BH clinicians and Psychiatry staff.
- Provides resources and case management to callers and documents in EMR
- Follows HIPAA regulations at all times when speaking to patients’ family members, friends, etc
- Reviews and monitors the BH referral list, supporting BH team clinicians with processing BH referrals and providing patients with resources.
- Assist in educating patients in understanding and promoting CHC services available to them (i.e., dental, Gynecology, pharmacy, mental health, optometry) as well as connecting to external resources.
- Support BH Director to manage and coordinate patient requests and referrals.
- Associate degree with strong knowledge and understanding of Behavioral Health.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
