SmartStart is looking for Behavior Therapists who are expert players who LOVE children and LOVE to play! Our Behavior Therapists use an authentic Developmental, Relationship based treatment center serving children 0-18 years old. We believe that children are more than their behaviors and deserve a model of intervention that allows them to grow, develop and thrive! We do not utilize any aspects of ABA and work diligently to train our staff in our Developmental model! This Behavior Therapist position is ideally suited for candidates who LOVE to Play and are energetic and creative. We are currently seeking individuals who are passionate about children with special needs and teaching them through play and sensory-motor activities. Our staff receive significant training, support and supervision, initially and then ongoing!. Our unique Developmental Model brings education to life through passion, perspective and pursuit of learning processes that build for life! We develop cognitive connections one leap at a time! It is designed to support a child’s development, identifies the child’s unique sensory processing profile and deficits, and captures the child’s heart and drive by harnessing their loves and recognizes that children must have a warm connection with all the important people in their lives, and parents as their first and best teachers. Our model has an intense focus on mobilizing children’s interests, supporting their unique sensory systems, and wooing children into interactive experiences. We look beyond the physical needs of the sensory and central nervous system, beyond the biological differences in children, to what are the individual needs of the child

Duties include:
· Well planned dynamic, energetic, playful, activities that harness the hearts and minds of children with special needs
· Working with children with Autism, speech delay, motor delays, Down Syndrome and other developmental delays
· Parent Training and coaching
· Services are delivered in the child's home and community
· Write treatment notes and progress reports
Shift's Available
1 We serve children after school, evenings and weekends.
2. Full time and part-time positions available
3. For Part-time is a minimum of 15 hours per week
Requirements
Our Behavior TherapistsMUST possess the following:
· Candidates MUST have a bachelor's degree (We cannot make EXCEPTIONS)
· Experience with Special Needs children and LOVE to Play!
· Child development, Theater Arts, Physical Education, Psychology are all relevant
majors
· Because this is an in home and community-based service it requires a reliable form of transportation
