EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As a Basic Education Associate 2, you will provide leadership and technical assistance in the development, improvement, and expansion of school safety initiatives. This will include but is not limited to the development of statewide plans that provide anti-violence resources for schools, oversight of the development of emergency management and crisis management plans for schools, administration of School Police and School Resource Officer grants, working with statewide committees, organizing Safe Schools’ Intermediate Unit Regional Coordinators, and policy development.This profession involves some travel throughout the state to collaborate with school entities, community-based organizations, government agencies, and local police departments to assess area needs and provide or link to resources. Program development, data analysis, leadership, and relationship-building are key strengths for this position.Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, and report to the office every Thursday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
