Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Check identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age
- Monitor customer behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or disturbances
- Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Set up banquet venues according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and tableware
- Greet guests courteously and assist in seating arrangements while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
- Serve food and beverages to guests during events
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries and special requests, providing knowledgable and courteous assistance
- Monitor and replenish banquet supplies, such as water glasses, utensils, and condiments, to ensure a seamless dining experience
- Collaborate with kitchen and catering staff to coordinate timely and efficient service, accommodating special dietary needs when necessary
- Clear tables efficiently during and after events, ensuring a clean and organized banquet space
- Follow proper safety and hygiene protocols, including handling and disposal of food in compliance with health regulations
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth coordination and execution of banquet events
- Assist in the breakdown and clean up of banquet areas, returning equipment and furniture to designated storage areas
Skills:
- Previous experience working as a bartender in a hotel, catering, or banquet setting is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals
- Knowledge of various drink recipes and the ability to mix cocktails according to customer preferences
- Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques is a plus
- Ability to handle cash transactions and operate a cash register or POS system
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of basic banquet operations, food safety regulations and practices
- Willingness to bus tables and other tasks as needed
- Team player mentality with a collaborative approach to working with kitchen and catering staff
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays, and move furniture as needed
- Professionalism and a neat, well-groomed appearance
- Problem solving skills to address guest requests and unexpected situations during events
