WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Strategic Event Planning: Work directly with Banquet Managers on staffing ratios, room layouts, and menu implementation for seamless event operations and collaborate closely with the Catering Manager to ensure the successful execution of events, focusing on service excellence.
- Event Details and Visualization: Thoroughly review Banquet Event Orders to understand client and catering manager plans for each event and craft detailed diagrams for events, enhancing visual understanding and ensuring precise execution.
- Logistics and Preparation: Prepare back-of-house strike sheets for events requiring equipment, ensuring smooth service logistics and organize and assign servers for each event, optimizing efficiency and service quality.
- Effective Communication: Communicate with support departments to finalize details related to food, beverage, equipment, power, and room setup for all responsible events and oversee Banquet service staff, ensuring strict adherence to department, property, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Human Resource Management: Manage Human Resource responsibilities for specifically assigned areas, create and maintain a work environment that fosters client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction and ensure quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes, aligning with the company's diversity commitment.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in catering and banquets or Food and Beverage.
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
- Knowledgeable and understanding of the Culinary Union bargaining agreement as it relates to the banquet department.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART?
- Previous experience as a banquet supervisor/captain in an operation of similar size and scope or manager/director experience in a smaller, luxury property.
- Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
