Delightfully deliver positive experiences for the guests through your food and beverage knowledge with attention to the event details while bringing personality and passion to all event venues. Under the orchestration of the Banquet Captain, this position thrives on taking ownership of responsibilities while being able to preserve a positive approach that contributes to the team environment.

The Nitty-Gritty:

What exactly you will be doing…

In helping you understand your role in working for a progressive, environment conscious, world class organization, the following is a list of your essential job responsibilities. Please keep in mind that this list is not all inclusive and that you may be asked to perform other job tasks by your supervisors/managers not listed below in the constant quest to provide “out of this world” customer service experience for our guests:

  • LOVE people and have a passion for serving others and the community
  • Cleanliness is the closest thing to happiness and happiness looks like a clean, hygienic and organized work environment that includes organized glassware, tidy beverage bottles, etc. and well maintained service areas/halls
  • Stock bar space according to the event details
  • Deliver flawless guest service that flows efficiently, energetically, and with personality even through busy/hectic periods…precisely!
  • Describe beverages to guests and creatively be able to tell their story
  • Assist guests and greet in a kind and courteous manner
  • Strong floor presence

What qualities are we looking for?

You got skills? If you are able to perform the following, then you have come to the right place…

  • Great team player with the ability create excellent working relationships across the group.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and over deliver wherever possible
  • Enthusiastic, passionate, able to enthuse and motivate others
  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs, carry and balance plates and glassware, carry kegs, wine and beer cases as necessary
  • Push items 50-100 lbs like carts, hot boxes, Queen Mary’s, etc.
  • Stand for periods of 8-10 hours and climb steps
  • Flexibility and mobility to bend and squat in tight work spaces
  • Must enjoy being around and working with people
  • Multitasking is the new normal with attention to the little details
  • Work with others like a rock star, while keeping the guests and teammates the focus
  • Communicate clearly and follow instruction in verbal and written English both with teammates and guests
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures, as well as, all state and federal laws
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards
  • Adhere to hotel policies including but not limited to attendance, safety, behavior

Background must-have:

  • Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the USA.
  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Food Service Handler Card and TIPS certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a full service hospitality establishment preferred
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management/co-workers, both in person and on the telephone.
