About the OpportunityDMI is looking for a Backup Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities: This role is responsible for:
- Running reports, troubleshooting backup failures, installing backup agents on new clients, restores, loading and unloading tapes in tape library, managing disk space, managing the ticket queue, attending meetings and making sure projects get completed on time
- Supporting Business Continuity Plan to test failover to alternate sites and ensure cross-siting for backups
- Working with the team to plan and implement hardware/software changes including expansion of two tape libraries, supporting a new archiving storage solution, migrating data to tiered storage and installing Service Packs to keep backup software up to date.
Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree
Required Work Experience:
- 5+ years Backup Engineer and administration experience.
- 1+ years experience with a federal agency or federal contractor
- 3+ years Information Technology Experience
Additional Requirements:
- Experience with EMC Networker, Veritas NetBackup, HP Data Protector, Symantec Puredisk and Commvault across both Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.
- Experience working with Netapp, HP, AWS and EMC storage, as well as various tape libraries including HP, Dell, IBM, STK, Quantum, Adic and SpectraLogic.
