The position:
AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Electrical/Electronics Engineer to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects.
This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Electrical Engineer.

A typical day as a:Junior Electrical/Electronics Engineer may include:
    • Comfortable in an industrial test environment that requires working with other engineers and engineering technicians
    • Performing a wide range of engineering tasks such as operating computer data acquisition equipment, performing routine maintenance on sensing equipment and moving test assets at the facility
    • Conferring with customers, engineers, and other officials to discuss existing or current acquisition techniques/measured results from acquisition system (As you gain experience)
    • Ensuring compliance with specifications, standards or customer requirements by assisting or coordinating installation, maintenance, documentation, support or testing activities
    • Working alongside a variety of engineers and technicians of varying backgrounds
    • Writing standard operating procedures
    • Compiling measurement data regarding existing and new test assets

Must-haves:
    • Education: BA in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
    • Experience using oscilloscopes and equivalent equipment
    • Basic understanding of signal theory (To include understanding the basics of attenuation and degradation of signals due to testing equipment and a basic understanding of field displacement/propagation)
    • Ability to recognize mistakes that occur, articulate possible causes/seek assistance and learn from these events
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, to include MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
    • Willing to work indoors and outdoors in an industrial environment
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:
The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.
The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and picking up items less than 50 lbs. and/or operating machinery to assist in the movement of heavy objects such as forklifts and dollies. This position may also require driving government vehicles.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
